Company also launches college marketing dept.

New York-based RED Distribution has named Tony Bruno its VP of marketing. Bruno replaces Laura Marques, who left the company earlier this year.

Bruno will start on Dec. 12 and report to Lou Tatulli, VP of sales and marketing for the independent distribution arm of Sony BMG. Bruno comes to RED from Razor & Tie, where he was a VP of sales. Prior to joining Razor & Tie in 2004, Bruno was a VP of marketing at Wind-Up Records.

Additionally, RED has started a college music department, which will be headed by Rebecca Bleichman. She will report to Bruno, and her first day at RED will be Nov. 28. Bleichman is currently assisting Sony BMG senior VP of marketing Barry Levine in the alternative music marketing department.

RED hopes to have 24 students employed in the college marketing department by Jan. 1, 2006. Students will be required to devote 20 hours per week working on behalf of RED and its distributed labels.
