EMI Italy has unveiled a new management structure at its Milan headquarters.

Fabrizio Giannini, until now deputy managing director and VP of A&R, additionally assumes the role of GM, music division. He continues to report to EMI Italy managing director Beppe Ciaraldi. Giannini will oversee new managers at the company's two main labels.

Marco Alboni, who left as GM of Virgin Italy in 2002 to work in the indie sector, returns as label director at Capitol Italy. Until now, Ciaraldi had overseen Capitol. Ciaraldi replaced Riccardo Clary as EMI Italy company head in 2004.

At Virgin Italy, Mario Sala is promoted to label director from marketing director. He replaces Giampietro Paravella, who moved to London last month to take the position of VP, global marketing, in charge of the Capitol repertoire.

"I am sure that, with this new structure, EMI Italy will be fully able to play its part in the growth of the EMI Group," comments Ciaraldi in a statement. "It will be in a position to identify creative opportunities, develop new business and improve the success ratio of both its local and international rosters."
