Takes on worldwide exec role.
Universal Music Group has promoted Michael Ostroff to general counsel, executive VP of business and legal affairs of UMG worldwide. He continues to report to Zach Horowitz, president and COO of the company, and will remain based in Santa Monica.
Ostroff, formerly executive VP of business & legal affairs for UMG, will be responsible for overseeing business and legal affairs on a global basis. He takes on additional areas of responsibility from Universal Studios, since the sale of the company to NBC, including the global trademark and corporate secretary functions.
Ostroff began his current, 21-year association with UMG as associate director of business and legal affairs for MCA Records and began his legal career as an associate in the law firm of Rosenfeld, Meyer & Susman.
