Warner Home Video claims to be the first major studio to release an enhanced version of a theatrically released film exclusively for the video-on-demand and pay-per-view markets with the March 1 re-release of “March of the Penguins.”

The new version of the popular documentary will include the “Movies That Pop” feature, which provides extra information about the film on-screen throughout viewing.

The new “March of the Penguins” can be accessed by customers of select digital cable and satellite operators including Comcast.

An unenhanced version of “March of the Penguins” was already released on VOD and PPV Dec. 29.
