The completion of Paramount Pictures’ $1.6 billion acquisition of DreamWorks SKG yesterday (Feb. 1) was accompanied by major executive changes at Paramount’s home video division and news of layoffs.

Kelly Avery, the former head of DreamWorks Home Entertainment, is the new worldwide president of Paramount Home Entertainment.

Avery will take over from Thomas Lesinski, who has been named president of the new Paramount Digital Media Group, a division that is seeking to expand Paramount’s digital business opportunities.

Meagan Burrows remains domestic president of PHE.

Additionally, Paramount has reported that 25 employees from a variety of divisions have been laid off and that at least 95 more be laid off by week’s end.
