MTV Networks Korea senior VP/managing director HK Choi will leave the company in the coming weeks, MTV Networks Asia said today (Feb. 7).

An exact date for his departure has not been set yet, but a spokesman for MTV said it would be before the end of February.

Luke Kang, senior VP of corporate strategy and business development will oversee MTV Korea in the interim, until a new head is found.

Choi said in a statement that he was moving on to pursue other business opportunities.

Choi has been head of MTV Networks Korea for three years. In a statement, Choi said, "I am proud of my achievements at MTV Networks Korea and have enjoyed working with such a dedicated and talented team."

"We have benefited greatly from HK's leadership as managing director for MTV Networks Korea," said Nigel Robbins, president of MTV Networks Asia Pacific. "His passion and expertise helped the networks significantly in promoting our businesses in Korea."
