While few details have yet been unveiled, the service is expected to go live this spring offering music, ringtones, logos, games, ticketing and entertainment information.

It will be distributed in Fnac's 68 outlets in France and available both on GSM and UMTS networks.

The mobile service will be complementary to the retailer's existing online ventures at Fnac.com and FnacMusic.com, a spokesman says.

Orange is an affiliate of France Telecom, operator of that markets biggest fixed-line network.
