Universal Music U.K. has recruited Sony BMG executive Hassan Choudhury to the role as VP, international.

Universal Music U.K. has recruited Sony BMG executive Hassan Choudhury to the role as VP, international.

In his new role, Choudhury will be tasked with duties for all aspects of the worldwide marketing of the company's roster, which includes U2, Elton John, Keane and Kaiser Chiefs.

He will work closely with Universal Music Group International operating companies around the world, as well as its London-based marketing division and with Universal Music Group labels in North America.

Choudhury is currently London-based senior director, global marketing Europe, at Sony BMG. Prior to joining Sony BMG in 2005, he served with Warner Music U.K., for 18 years, most recently as director of international. According to a statement, Choudhury will assume his new duties before the end of February.

Meanwhile, Mark Crossingham has been named GM for Concord/Fantasy. Crossingham joined Universal Music in 1995, and has held posts in the company's consumer and media division, and at Universal Island.

Concord Music Group recently signed an international distribution and licensing agreement with UMGI for its roster and catalog outside North America. Concord's Fantasy group of labels include such catalogs as Prestige, Riverside, Stax, Specialty and Milestone.

Both Choudhury and Crossingham will report to Max Hole, executive VP, marketing and A&R, at UMGI. In addition, Choudhury will jointly report to the presidents and managing directors of Universal Music U.K.
