The Universal-signed quartet is up for the group national rock/pop and newcomer national categories, and their single "Durch den Monsun" is in the running for hit of the year and best music DVD-production.

Next up with three nominations are labelmates Soehne Mannheims, the latest collaboration by hip-hop star Xavier Naidoo and keyboard players Michael Herberger and Florian Sitzmann. The band garnered nods for group national rock/pop, best music DVD-production national/international and best live-act national.

Soehne Mannheims' frontman Xavier Naidoo is nominated for artist national rock/pop, and his track "Dieser Weg" (SPV) is up for hit of the year.

Veteran German rock 'n' roll singer Peter Kraus will be this year's recipient of the life-time achievement award.

Universal Music leads all companies with 41 nominations in 22 categories.

The event, organized by the German Phonographic Academy, will be beamed on a two-hour delay by national TV-channel RTL.
