Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems has expanded its strategic relationship with Musicrypt.
Now, radio programmers that subscribe to Nielsen BDS will immediately be able to access full songs distributed through Musicrypt's DMDS secure digital system via BDSradio.com. Users can also listen or download an entire song for on-air broadcasts by clicking on an icon directly within a format chart or station playlist.
"We began our involvement with Musicrypt over a year ago, when we recognized their DMDS system to be the pinnacle digital distribution system. It has always been our objective to further this association. This integration is the next logical step," said Rob Sisco, president, Nielsen Music. "Offering radio programmers direct and easy access to a music library under the most secure distribution system available is a win for both the record and radio industries."
Peter Diemer, VP of marketing and sales for Musicrypt, added, "The further expansion of our relationship with Nielsen BDS, the industry leading electronic broadcast data monitoring system, allows us to collectively offer the best integrated solution available to the industry today. In this day and age when electronic accuracy is paramount to everything we do, it's a privilege to be working with the most trusted and best source of this important information".
Musicrypt's DMDS has delivered more than 3,200 songs to over 2.5 million destinations.
Nielsen's BDS and SoundScan provide data that Billboard and Billboard's Radio Monitor magazines use to determine their airplay and sales charts.
