Warner Music International is ramping up its efforts in the digital music space through a pair of executive appointments.

The company today (March 1) elevated Eric Daugan to the new post as VP, digital marketing. Daugan will relocate to London from Paris, where he was digital business development for Warner Music France.

WMI says it created Daugan's new role to more closely combine its international artist marketing and promotion strategy with its digital business development plans.

Daugan will also work closely with parent company Warner Music Group's corporate business development unit and record labels to deliver the major's digital plans.

"This appointment illustrates Warner Music's commitment to integrate our digital strategy into all of our business operations, enabling us to stay ahead in this fast-developing space," comments WMI's executive VP of marketing John Reid, to whom he reports.

At the same time, Warner Music France has moved to fill the void left by Daugan's departure. Julie Demarigny has been recruited to the position as director of digital business at Warner Music France, reporting to its president Thierry Chassagne.

Demarigny joins the firm from Sony BMG France where she was GM of global digital business since 2000.
