Recently averaging 250,000 songs per week.
Sprint’s full-song wireless music download service seems to be getting some momentum, recently reporting a weekly download average of 250,000 songs.
According to financial analyst Rich Greenfield of Pali Research, Sprint told analysts the service totaled 1.5 million downloads since launching the store.
This revelation was made just two weeks after announcing it had hit the 1 million download milestone Feb. 15. That means Sprint facilitated an additional 500,000 downloads in 14 days.
Not all were sales, as Sprint has been giving away five free songs to consumers who buy the PowerVision phones needed to access the service. But according to Greenfield Sprints says that 60% of first million downloads were paid versus promotional.
