London office expands with exec appointments.

Digital music distributor the Orchard has inked a deal with Warner/Chappell Music to sell ringback tones and master ringtones in the U.S.

Under terms of the non-exclusive agreement, certain songs from the Orchard's recorded music catalog, whose publishing is controlled by Warner/Chappell Music, will be made available as ringbacks and ringtones.

The Orchard's mobile network spans more than 200 global carriers. It currently markets and distributes more than 10,000 master ringtones, including non-major label music from artists ranging from Ray Charles, Beck and John Legend.

In other news, the new media firm has expanded its London office in support of its growing U.K. and European businesses.

Neil Cartwright has been appointed regional manager, with responsibilities for content licensing to European digital retail and mobile services. He joins from Sony Music U.K., where he was head of new media for the past nine years.

Naja Detrekoy and Veronika Dann join as product manager and label relations manager, respectively.

The London office is overseen by co-founder Scott Cohen, who also manages local offices and European teams in Paris, Lausanne, Milan, Barcelona and Berlin.

"Over the past year," says Cohen, "we've experienced exciting growth in these key music markets, and we are confident that this expansion is a demonstration of our long-term commitment to recognizing the incredible value and importance of servicing markets at the local level."

In addition, the firm will shortly confirm a European marketing appointment.
