Copenhagen Records has signed Tim Christensen, one of Denmark's top-selling rock artists, to a three-album deal.

The label, part of the MBO group, was founded two years ago by a team of former EMI executives. Christensen has released two albums on EMI labels Medley and Capitol. His latest, "Honeyburst" (Capitol) from 2003, has sold 120,000 units (six-times platinum), according to EMI.

Copenhagen Records partner/A&R manager Nikolaj Foss signed Christensen's band Dizzy Mizz Lizzy to EMI in the early '90s and produced their recordings as well as Christensen's 2000 solo debut album "Secrets on Parade." Foss was executive producer on "Honeyburst." "We worked together for 12 years, why not continue," Foss says.

In a statement, Christensen comments, "Even though it's a new tag and a new name, I feel at home. The decision to sign with CR was not so difficult and I look forward to re-starting our collaboration."

Christensen is currently working on a new album. Foss says no release date has been discussed as yet. Christensen may make some appearances in the summer or fall, depending upon progress made with the forthcoming album.

Copenhagen-based PDH handles booking and management for Christensen. EMI Music Publishing will continue to publish his music.
