Warner Classics is launching a bespoke online music service.

Due to go live from April 10, the store at Warner Classics' Web site will offer hundreds of Warner Classics' albums of content and preview soundclips. The company will add 50 or more each week thereafter.

The store, which will only sell Warner Classics' recordings, was built by U.K. new media solutions firm Fresh Digital.

"Our mission is to make classical music accessible to as many consumers as possible," comments Warner Classics director Matthew Cosgrove

Warner Classics' catalog includes recordings by Daniel Barenboim, Maxim Vengerov, Susan Graham, Renee Fleming, Placido Domingo, José Carreras and Bryn Terfel.

The launch will be accompanied by a month-long promotion to mark BBC Radio 3's April 17 broadcast of Richard Wagner's "Ring Cycle," conducted by Daniel Barenboim. As part of the initiative, consumers can access four downloads from the "Ring Cycle" series.
