Reba McEntire has been selected to host the 41st annual Academy of Country Music Awards, set for May 23 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The show will be televised live on CBS.

This year's telecast will be McEntire's eighth turn as host of the ACM Awards. In her career, she has won 11 ACMs, including eight top female vocalist trophies, making her the all-time leading winner in that category. She has been nominated for a total of 41 ACM Awards.

In a prepared statement, ACM executive director Bob Romeo called McEntire "the leading lady of this organization" and "the face of the Academy . . . Her wit, comic timing and her relationship with the artists bring a dynamic to the awards that . . . is unprecedented in our industry."
