Michael O’Neill has been promoted to senior VP of licensing at BMI. O'Neill is based in New York and reports to Del Bryant, president and CEO of the performing rights organization.

O’Neill was most recently VP of sales and administration of media licensing for BMI. He joined the organization as director of group and national accounts in 1995 from CBS-TV network, where he was director of CBS of affiliate relations. Within two years, he was appointed assistant VP of media licensing and two years later to his most previous position.

He will oversee all aspects of BMI’s licensing and its General Licensing arm whose customers include approximately 600,000 restaurants, bars, live performance venues and other establishments.

During his tenure, O’Neill led BMI’s licensing negotiations with the big three television networks, the local television industry, and cable television networks and systems.

He was the senior licensing executive in BMI’s landmark $1.6 billion radio industry agreement.
