Deal covers online playback only.

Universal Music Group is licensing its music video library to Music Choice's broadband music service. Acts covered under the agreement include Ashanti, Beck, Black Eyed Peas, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Eminem, Eve, 50 Cent, Vince Gill, Godsmack, Gwen Stefani, and Shania Twain. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Music Choice will feature the videos alongside music shows, interviews, daily music news, and audio music channels. The deal covers online playback only, not video-on-demand (VOD) for cable and satellite television. The two companies are still negotiating rights for VOD as well as video for cell phones.

The only major Music Choice already has an extensive video deal with is Warner Music Group. That pact comprises broadband, VOD and cell phones. It has similar agreements with many indie labels as well. The company is still negotiating with Sony BMG Music Entertainment and EMI Music for all video rights.
