James Kyllo, GM of the Assn. of Independent Music's new media arm, has been hired to set up the U.K. office for digital distributor Zebralution.

Kyllo, who joined the U.K. indie labels trade body as GM of AIM Digital in November 2004, will depart from his current post at the end of April.

"James has been a very able and valued member of the team. We are sorry to see him go and wish him the very best," comments AIM chair/CEO Alison Wenham.

During his tenure with AIM, Kyllo was closely involved with the creation of a groundbreaking podcasting license and in the brokering of collective licensing pacts for eMusic, BreakMyEars and Soundbuzz.

Founded in December 2003, Zebralution is a key digital distributor to the independent label community. The company is headquartered in Duisburg, Germany and operates from locations in Berlin, Los Angeles, London and Paris. Details on the U.K. office have yet to be unveiled.

AIM will announce its plans for AIM Digital in the near future.
