MTV Networks International veteran Dave Sibley is moving from London to Sydney in July to take over as managing director of MTV Networks Australia. Sibley, who joined the network ten years ago, is currently senior VP and general manager, international marketing partnerships.
In his new post, Sibley reports to Nigel Robbins, Singapore-based president of MTV Networks Asia Pacific and formerly managing director of Australian operations.
Sibley will be responsible for growth of MTV and VH1's businesses in pay television and digital media in Australia and New Zealand. He will also join the board of Nickelodeon Australia, a joint venture between MTV Networks and pay TV operator XYZ Entertainment.
"MTV now has truly established itself in Australia as the premier brand for youth (and) I'm looking forward to capitalising on this trajectory and taking our businesses to the next level of growth," Sibley said in a statement.
In other changes, Andrew Hoppe, MTV’s Sydney-based VP of programming and production, will relocate to Singapore next month to become VP, digital media and programme strategy. He will report to Laurent Verrier, VP/GM digital media, MTV Networks Asia Pacific.
Hoppe will be replaced by India Bent, VP of marketing, communications and events management. Bent's new title will be VP, talent and artist relations and event management, MTV Networks Asia-Pacific. She will continue to be based in Sydney, and work with the Australian and Asian teams to deliver events as the upcoming MTV Asia Movie Awards, the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards and MTV's Mandarin Music Awards.
