Red Hot Chili Peppers have revealed details for their 2006 North American tour, which will open Aug. 11 in Portland, Ore. As previously reported, the trek in support of the double album "Stadium Arcadium," due May 9 via Warner Bros, will be broken into two legs with a few weeks off in October.

The first leg of the tour runs through an Oct. 1 show in Quebec City. The second leg will open Oct. 17 in East Rutherford, N.J., and close Nov. 5 in Minneapolis. The Mars Volta has been tapped to open.

Tickets for all shows but one go on sale May 13; ducats for an Aug. 15 show in Boise, Idaho, will be available one day earlier. Members of the RHCP fan club and those who pre-order the new album via iTunes will have pre-sale opportunities on May 7 and May 9, respectively.

As first reported here last week, the Chili Peppers will also headline the annual Voodoo Music Experience Oct. 28 in New Orleans.

The group is also set to appear as the musical guest Saturday (May 6) on NBC's "Saturday Night Live." The new album's lead single, "Dani California," has so far reached No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is No. 1 on both the Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock airplay charts.
