Label run by Goo Goo Doll Robby Takac
Port Washington, N.Y.-based Koch Entertainment Distribution has signed an exclusive U.S. distribution deal with Good Charamel Records, the label co-owned by Goo Goo Dolls bassist Robby Takac and Gregg Bell.
Good Charamel releases were previously handled by Minneapolis-based Oarfin distribution. The label, launched in 2003, has released albums from the Juliet Dagger and Last Conservative, and recently added singer/songwriter Katrina Carlson to its roster, according to a statement from Koch. Carlson's 2003 album "Untucked" was issued by Bell's Kataphonic Records.
Good Charamel's first release via Koch will be the compilation CD "Music Is Hope," proceeds of which will benefit Buffalo, N.Y.-based autistic school Summit. The album will feature unreleased tracks from the Goo Goo Dolls and Ani DiFranco, among others, and will be released in a partnership with DiFranco's Righteous Babe Records, which is also distributed by Koch. The album is due sometime this summer.
