Entertainment Distribution Company (EDC) has secured deals to manage CD and DVD replication and/or fulfillment with ABCKO, The Orchard, Goldhil Entertainment and Club Bertelsmann, in an effort to expand its manufacturing and distribution fulfillment.

The agreements are expected to add fees from manufacturing and/or shipping 20 million CD and DVDs annually to the company’s revenue base. EDC, a division of Glenayre Technologies, was formed when Jim Caparro partnered with the Atlanta-based, publicly-traded company, to buy the manufacturing and distribution facilities of the Universal Music Group in May 2005. UMG is the biggest customer of EDC.

In addition, EDC is partnering with Vision Information Services to develop a state-of-the-art wholesale distribution and retail sales information systems.
“By expanding capacity and services, as well as adding new customers, EDC continues to deliver the essential elements of its strategic growth plan,” EDC president and CEO Jim Caparro said in a statement. “Furthermore, our new alliance with Vision Information Systems allows EDC to expand its service model, and become a differentiated, end-to-end entertainment supply chain provider.”
