Previous stints include Billboard, Hollywood, A&M.

Stephanie Lopez has been promoted to VP of urban adult promotion for J/Arista Records. She continues to report to Ken Wilson, senior VP of urban promotion and remains based in the company’s New York City headquarters.

Lopez joined J upon its inception in 2001 as a national director, urban adult promotion. As the first person appointed solely to this format, she became instrumental in the radio promotion campaigns for several of J’s most successful artists, including Alicia Keys, Monica, Luther Vandross, Fantasia, Ruben Studdard, and Mario. In 2003, she was promoted to senior national director.

Lopez’s previous position before coming to J was a two-year stint at Billboard/Billboard Radio Monitor as chart manager for urban, urban adult, jazz, and tropical. In that position, she generated, developed, and created charts and wrote two weekly columns. Prior to Billboard, Lopez was national director promotions/marketing for Hollywood Records and held a similar position at A&M Records.

“Stephanie has been an integral part of the growth of J Records since its inception. I am extremely pleased to foster her continued growth and anticipate major contributions in the future from Stephanie in her new position,” said Wilson in a statement.
