Univision Online will launch a digital music store by early next month, Billboard has learned. Univision will capitalize on the clout and traffic of univision.com, which has over 10 million unique users per month, to spur digital sales. Currently the site sells ringtones and physical CDs.

According to Bruno López, VP/GM of Univision Online, the gola is to be launched by June 9, the day of the beginning of the World Cup, which is expected to boost traffic to the site.

Univision’s digital store will launch with a minimum of 1.1 million tracks in all genres, including at least 55,000 Latin songs. More Latin tracks will be added in the coming months.

The site will be powered by Canadian company Puretracks. Most tracks will cost .99 cents and albums begin at $9.99. Univision reports it has deals in place with all major labels and is in the process of negotiating with independents.
