Taps Mark Flaherty, former consultant.

Mark Flaherty has been named VP of marketing at J/Arista Records. He will report to Tom Corson, executive VP/GM at J/Arista Records and will be based in the company’s New York City headquarters.

Flaherty most previously owned his own marketing consulting business, Flaherty Consulting, and was contracted by Universal Records, to assume VP of marketing duties, where he worked on campaigns for artists such as Lindsay Lohan, Mars Volta, Don Omar, and Scissor Sisters. In addition, he previously held the position of senior director of marketing for the Zomba Label Group.

Prior to his career in marketing, Flaherty was a singer and songwriter whose compositions have been heard on programs such as The Today Show, Dawson’s Creekand Grosse Point. He is a past winner of the ASCAP Songwriters Workshop and the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
