Digital distibutor to market 72,000 digitized tracks.

Mu-Yap, Turkey’s music-industry trade body and the local IFPI affiliate, has appointed U.S.-based international distributor The Orchard to market its catalog of 72,000 digitized tracks to digital music stores worldwide.

The package, representing the works of 85 Turkish labels and about 80% of the national music industry, will be boosted by an extra 40,000 digitized songs during the next year.

The partnership with The Orchard is the first major move from Mu-Yap, which launched a new media division called Digital Music Project last year.

It is designed to exploit its catalog on digital platforms worldwide and The Orchard is the partner selected to execute its sales online and via mobile handsets.
