Hollywood Records debut slated for Sept. 26 release.

Vanessa Anne Hudgens, star of The Disney Channel Original Movie “High School Musical” has signed an exclusive recording deal with Hollywood Records. Her yet-to-be-titled debut CD is slated for a September 26 release.

Hudgens made her feature film debut in Catherine Hardwick’s “Thirteen.” Most recently she co-starred in the action-adventure film “Thunderbirds” and is a recurring guest star on The Disney Channel’s “The Suite Life of Zach & Cody.” She began her acting career in musical theater when she was 8 years old playing leading and supporting roles in productions including “Evita,” “The Wizard of Oz,” and “Cinderella.” The upcoming album will be her first solo musical endeavor.

“High School Musical” sold over 400,000 copies on its first day making it the fastest selling television movie of all time on DVD for the home entertainment industry.
