Three dates cancelled, four added to route.

Live Nation, promoters of Mariah Carey’s summer tour, have pulled the plug on three dates and added four more to the route.

Off the route because of soft ticket sales are shows in Hershey, Pa. at the Giant Center (Sept. 3), Denver at Pepsi Center (Sept. 18) and Seattle at Key Arena (Sept. 25).

Added to the tour are four dates; a second in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre (Aug. 29); Nikon at Jones Beach Theatre in Wantagh, N.Y. (Sept. 3); MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Man. (Sept. 19); and the Pengrowth Saddledome in Calgary, Alta. (Sept. 25).

In general, Live Nation officials have maintained that Carey’s tour is doing well and tracking well above her previous tour numbers.

The three new Canadian dates--as well as the fact that the Dixie Chicks have also looked north of the border for concert business in light of tougher going in the U.S.--is further evidence that the Canadian concert market is robust.
