BMG Music Publishing North America has named Sam Kling VP Film & TV. He will oversee the film/TV synchronization departments of BMG Songs/Zomba Music Publishing and FirstCom, one of BMG's production music libraries.

While staff for the two departments will report to Kling, the departments will remain independent. Los Angeles-based Kling will report to Scott Francis, president of BMG Songs North America, and to Carol Riffert, VP/GM of FirstCom.

Kling was most recently VP Film & TV for FirstCom. Prior to joining the company in 2004, he was managing director of Madgroove Entertainment, an independent artist and producer management company.

“Sam is a real music guy with a keen sense of visual creativity, and possesses a perfect blend of business sense and musical knowledge for the job," says Francis. "Having Sam at the helm of both departments will create synergy, allowing both film/TV staffs to share information and opportunities.”

On the BMG/Zomba side, Kling replaces Ron Broitman, who departed BMG Music Publishing earlier this year. Marina Mena will take over Kling’s day-to-day duties at FirstCom.
