Earls Court to host 'Homecoming' gigs in Jan.

Kylie Minogue will play two London arena dates early next year, her first in the U.K. since she was diagnosed in May 2005 with breast cancer.

The Australian pop singer will perform at Wembley Arena on Jan. 2 and 3, 2007, as part of her "Showgirl - Homecoming" tour.

Minogue is a household name in Britain. Prior to her diagnosis, the singer became the first solo female artist to play a seven-night string of dates at the 18,500-seat capacity Earls Court venue. Madonna previously had that record with six nights in 2001.

The rescheduled London dates will differ from those 2005 dates, concerts giant Live Nation said today (July 17) in a statement.

Today's news will be seen as further proof that Minogue has fully recovered from the illness which had forced her to postpone concerts in Australia and Asia.

Frontier Touring, Minogue's promoter Down Under, last month rescheduled a 20-date Australian tour to begin Nov. 11.
