Partnership to target tween, teen market.

Geffen Records and DIC Entertainment have partnered to launch a new youth entertainment brand, SPG. The joint venture will target the tween and teen market using multiple platforms including music, television, online and mobile.

The cornerstone of the SPG brand is the entertainment group Slumber Party Girls, which features five multi-ethnic teens who sing, dance and act. The Slumber Party Girls will host the new kids’ programming block, “KOL’s Secret Slumber Party on CBS,” a collaboration between DIC, AOL’s KOL kids site and CBS, set to launch Sept. 16.

The group will also serve as the house band for the dance competition series “Dance Revolution!” Slumber Party Girls’ new single will debut on iTunes and KOL in August.
