Digital singles offered as a value add.
Apple Computer’s iTunes Music Store is expanding its experimentation with offering digital singles as a free value add bonus with the purchase of select music videos.
The store is currently running a promotion offering more than two dozen digital tracks and their corresponding videos together, in a special combo bundle known as a vingle, for $1.99—the price of the average music video.
Vingles featured in the promotion include AFI’s “Miss Murder,” The Raconteurs’ “Steady As She Goes,” Julie Roberts “Men & Mascara,” Wolfmother’s “Woman,” Lloyd Banks’ “Cake,” Cheyenne Kimball”s “Hanging On” and Dem Franchize Boyz “Ridin’ Rims.”
Until recently the digital retailer has only offered vingles on a select one off basis. In recent months iTunes has begun running more expanded short-run promotions for vingle offers.
