Former Smash/Island exec to head DVD acquisition.
Navarre Corp. has named Marvin Gleicher its VP of DVD content acquisition, effective immediately. A Navarre spokesperson says this is a newly created position.
Gleicher will be responsible for acquiring and marketing DVD product for the publisher/distributor. Gleicher founded the North American division of Manga Entertainment Inc., which specialized in the marketing of Japanese animation.
Prior to forming Manga, which was acquired by IDT Entertainment in 2004, Gleicher served as president of Smash/Island Records.
Gleicher will be based in Minneapolis and report to Bob Freese, president/GM of Navarre Entertainment Media.
