XM is using the recent format switch of KZLA to promote its selection of nine different country music channels to Los Angeles-based radio listeners, now lacking a terrestrial radio station that programs country music.

KZLA parent company Emmis Communicaions on Aug. 15 replaced the station's country format with a rhythmic AC format known as "Movin.'" KZLA's country format, which had been on the air since the early '80s, will continue on its HD2 channel and will stream on the station's Web site.
