The Doors’ keyboardist Ray Manzarek, and manager Jeff Jampol, will hold an exclusive keynote Q&A session during Billboard MECCA Fall 2006, presented by SMS.ac and part of CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment 2006. The Q&A—which will be moderated by Tamara Conniff, Billboard’s executive editor and associate publisher—will center on the evolution of music and The Doors’ decision to get their music into new digital venues.

The one-day, mobile entertainment industry conference is set to take place September 11 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.

Manzarek formed The Doors in Los Angeles in 1965 along with band mates Robby Krieger, John Densmore and Jim Morrison. The band continues to sell more than 1 million albums annually worldwide, with total record and DVD sales of more than 75 million to date. The Doors are currently No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Pop Catalog Albums chart.

In related news, The Doors and Rhino Records are releasing a new 12 disc box set on November 21.
