Raids reveal largest label in Canada.

Authorities seized about 20,000 pirated films during raids Aug. 28 at a counterfeit DVD lab in Canada.

The Toronto-based facility operated with two retail units and a basement unit equipped with 142 data burners. Local authorities estimate that the operation could generate more than C$43 million ($38 million) in annual sales.

"This is the largest lab we have ever seen in Canada," says Jim Sweeney, an investigator with the Canadian Motion Picture Distributors Assn., a non-profit Toronto-based agency that assisted in the investigation.

Metropolitan Toronto police have charged You Jie Wu of Markham, Ontario with possession of property obtained by crime over C$5,000 ($4,500), fraud over C$5,000 and failing to comply with a recognizance order.

Also arrested were three Toronto-area women -- Yu Wang, Si Ying Zhao and Jing Zhou. They have been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (Canadian).
