CDs and DVDs valued at more than 300K.

Argentine customs officials seized a suspicious shipment of about 1 million blank recordable CDs and DVDs the week of Aug. 19, IFPI Latin America reported.

According to the recording industry organization, shipping documents described the contents of packages as “heat reflecting tiles.” The discs were believed to have been manufactured in Hong Kong, and were examined at the Port of Buenos Aires.

A preliminary investigation revealed previous such shipments by the Argentine importer, one of whose official addresses is non-existent. A local anti-piracy group says the discs were branded Infinity and Illusion, and valued at more than $300,000, according to IFPI.

A full investigation is underway against the importer, IFPI says.
