"Electronic Beats," the electronic-music and lifestyle festival conceived by wireless-phone giant T-Mobile International, has unveiled a line-up of major European acts for shows in Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia next month.
U.K. act Groove Armada Soundsystem heads-up the bill playing Oct. 25 at the first of the events, at Vienna's Halle E/MuseumsQuartier. Other performers include Hamburg hip hop band Deichkind, London-based rapper M.I.A., and France's Super Discount 2.
Ticket prices for the Vienna festival, which will be aired on the GoTV network a few weeks later, are €19 ($24) for online bookings, or €25 ($31) at the box office.
Maverick British act the Prodigy and U.S. techno pioneer DJ Carl Craig will perform at a branded "Live Special" event Oct. 27 in Bratislavia, at a venue yet to be confirmed.
On Oct. 28, the Prodigy will again headline the "Electronic Beats" concert at Prague's Veletrzni Palc National Gallery, supported by Scottish-originated DJ duo Slam, Hungarian alternative artist Yonderboi, Germany's N.O.H.A. (Noise of Human Art), and DJ Carl Craig.
Tickets cost CZKr330 ($15) for online booking, or CZKr450 ($20.50) at the box office). The festival is scheduled to be broadcast on local TV network TV Ocko.
In addition to being promoted and organized by T-Mobile, the events are co-sponsored by mobile handset maker Sony Ericsson, which will be marketing its W810i device at the sites. The handset features a music player, FM radio, and a music-management system.
