Brian Wilson, Dusty Springfield, Led Zeppelin and Rod Stewart will be among the acts inducted this year into the U.K. Music Hall Of Fame. The third annual gala will be held Nov. 14 at north London venue Alexandra Palace.
The acts will join Beatles producer Sir George Martin who, as previously reported, will receive honorary membership in recognition of his exceptional contribution to British music. Martin will join past honorary members, late broadcaster John Peel (2005) and Island Records founder Chris Blackwell (2004).
The event will feature either performances from the inductees, or paying tribute to them. Brian Wilson and his band will perform on the night, while Australian rock trio Wolfmother will dedicate a set to Led Zeppelin.
Further inductees for the 2006 ceremony, selected by a steering group consisting of more than 60 artists, journalists, broadcasters and industry executives, have still to be announced.
A delayed broadcast will air Nov. 14 on BBC Radio 2, and U.K. terrestrial TV broadcaster Channel 4 will televise the event Nov. 16. U.S. audiences can catch the ceremony Nov. 25 on VH1.
The event is produced by Endemol's U.K. TV production division Initial for Channel 4.
