Kimisada Kato will be appointed managing director of Tokyo-based label Roadrunner Japan on Oct. 1, industry sources tell Billboard.biz.

He replaces Shusuke Kawahara, whom a source says will join Tokyo-based production/management company Watanabe Entertainment in an unspecified capacity.

Kato was a producer at Tokyo-based independent label First Aid Network from 2003 until this August. Prior to that, he was the head of Warner Music Japan label Warner Indies Network.

Roadrunner Japan is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Naarden, Netherlands-based Roadrunner International.
