New label to have publishing, management arms.
A number of music industry vets have resurfaced with Skeleton Key Records, a recently formed publicly traded label. No artists have yet been signed, and a distribution deal is not yet finalized, according to a label spokesperson.
Skeleton Key will be headed at launch by David Kokakis, an entertainment attorney formerly with Greenberg Traurig, LLP. Other members of the Skeleton Key team include Anette Sharvit, who was formerly a GM of Raphael Saadiq’s Pookie Entertainment, VP of A&R/special projects Rene Arsenault, who founded Onda Productions, and Universal A&R vet Charles Suitt, who will serve as Skeleton Key’s executive VP of urban entertainment.
Based in New York, Skeleton Key is a subsidiary of Media Media Group, and also intends to operate publishing and management arms. Andrew Fuhrmann, a former VP of creative affairs at Universal Music Publishing, has been tapped as Skeleton Key’s executive VP or publishing. Finally, longtime manager Ric Aliberte will serve as Skeleton Key’s executive VP of pop/rock.
