Universal Music Group International has upped technology executives Stephan Garandet and John Jefferson.

Universal Music Group International has upped technology executives Stephan Garandet and John Jefferson.

Garandet rises to VP, digital operations, for UMGI. He reports to Rahmyn Kress, managing director, supply chain management at UMGI.

Garandet, who will split his time between UMGI's offices in Paris and London, will be tasked with digital production, delivery and systems.

He joined Universal Music Mobile International in 2003 as content production director, responsible for production, IT and project management.

Meanwhile, John Jefferson has been elevated to the new role as VP, IT Europe, at Universal Music Group International.

For the past five years, Jefferson has served as senior director, corporate systems, at UMGI. Based in London, he reports to Scott Belmont, executive VP/chief information officer, Universal Music Group and Boyd Muir, executive VP/chief financial officer, UMGI.

Jefferson joined Universal Music in 1991 as an analyst programmer.

Both appointments are immediately effective.
