She becomes assistant VP, writer/publisher relationships.

Delia Orjuela has been promoted to the position of assistant VP, writer/publisher relationships, Latin Music for BMI, Billboard.biz has learned.

Based out of Los Angeles, Orjuela was previously senior director of Latin Music. Now, with the departure at the end of the month of Diane Almodovar, BMI's VP of writer/publisher relations in Miami, Orjuela becomes Latin music's senior staff member at BMI.

Since joining BMI in 1997, Orjuela has signed a slew of Latin acts, including Juanes, Gustavo Santaolalla, Los Tigres del Norte, Intocable, Ana Barbara, Pepe Aguilar, Akwid and Lupillo Rivera, among many others.

Orjulea will report to Phil Graham, senior VP of writer/publisher relations.
