Becomes VP of music for advertising.

Universal Music Publishing Group has promoted Tom Eaton to VP of music for advertising. He will serve as a liaison between the publisher, its songwriters and advertising agencies.

During his eight years with UMPG, Eaton has placed songs in commercials for Cingular, KFC, Nissan, Target and many more well-known global brands. He has been instrumental in developing new promotional programs for the publisher.

Eaton, based in New York, will also work to create new opportunities for the publisher's writers and to exploit its catalog. He reports to Scott James, UMPG senior VP of music for motion pictures, television and new technologies worldwide. He was previously senior director of music for advertising, motion pictures and television.
