EMI Music has struck a mobile music products agreement with digital entertainment service provider Jamba.

Through the deal, unveiled today (Nov. 23), EMI will supply content for use as realtones and music videos via the Jamba/Jamster portals in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Music from heavyweight EMI acts such as the Rolling Stones, Coldplay, Depeche Mode, Queen and Robbie Williams are available through the new offering.

Furthermore, EMI's digital catalog of about 250,000 tracks will be licensed for a la carte downloads and subscription packages to users of Jamba Music, the music portal currently live only in Germany. The service, which offers unlimited music subscription for the PC and mobile, is expected to roll out in other markets shortly.

"This deal is a cornerstone in our European mobile strategy, and demonstrates our commitment to this fast moving sector."

Berlin-based Jamba is recognized as the first European firm to make the sale of ringtones a mainstream business, in part through mass-market TV advertising campaigns. The company was established in 2000 and sold in 2004 to U.S. Internet company Verisign.
