Alison Moyet has signed a recording contract with W14 Music, a new Universal Music Group imprint.

Moyet, the former vocalist with '80s synth pop duo Yazoo, has worldwide record sales in excess of 20 million units, according to Universal.

Through the new deal, the multiple Brit Award-winner will be reunited with W14 label head John Williams, who handled A&R duties for her past two albums, "Hometime" and "Voice," which were both released through Sanctuary Records.

"It's brilliant still to be working with John, as I have a more open and direct relationship with him than with any other A&R individual previously known to me," Moyet says, "and it has been really good for both of us that we understand how the other works."

A new studio album is tentatively planned for release in the summer of 2007, with production team the Insects on board. The album will coincide with the 25th anniversary of Moyet's debut release, the Yazoo track "Only You."
