Xenon Pictures and Televisa Home Entertainment have teamed up to release the first season of soap opera "Rebelde" on DVD.

"Rebelde" is the Mexican soap opera that spawned top selling pop group RBD. The soap finished airing here in the United States at the end of 2006.

The three double DVD "Rebelde" set goes on sale Jan. 9 and comes with English subtitles as well as special features, including bios and music videos.

"Rebelde" had three full seasons and 440 episodes, and became a popular spot for guest musicians, including Lenny Kravitz, Hilary Duff and Gorillaz. The soap opera aired throughout Latin America, Spain, the United States and more than a dozen other countries worldwide. There are plans in place for a "Rebelde" feature film.
