Random House imprint Del Rey Manga has purchased the worldwide rights to the
two-volume "Make 5 Wishes," created in collaboration with RCA artist Avril Lavigne. Nettwerk Management CEO Terry McBride brokered the deal.

For her part, Lavigne, whose new album "The Best Damn Thing" streets April
17, appears as a character in the manga. She also had a hand in the manga's
creative process. The artist says she got involved in this project because many of her fans read manga. "I'm really excited to be involved in creating stories that I know they will enjoy," Lavigne says.

The first volume of "Make 5 Wishes" arrives April 10, with the concluding volume scheduled for a July release. "Make 5 Wishes" is Del Rey's first original English-language manga.
