Wireless operator AT&T (formerly Cingular) will launch a 24/7 live streaming TV service later this year, using the MediaFLO technology and service from Qualcomm.

Unlike today's mobile TV services that deliver on-demand programs made specifically for mobile, the MediaFLO service broadcasts the same TV programming -- usually at the same time -- as network or cable TV.

AT&T rival Verizon Wireless also uses the MediaFLO system, and is planning an early Spring launch of a similar streaming TV service called VCast TV.
